Virtual Worlds brings cutting-edge technology to KBB show

KBB logo

British CAD design company, Virtual Worlds, will be bringing its latest award-winning 4D technology designed for the KBB sector to the West Midlands when it exhibits at the KBB Show in Birmingham.

From 4th – 7th March, visitors will be able to see the latest developments to Virtual Worlds’ virtual reality (VR) design software, 4D Theatre, which brings a level of spatial awareness and immersion never before seen in the industry.

This includes a sensor which tracks the customer’s hand movements, allowing them to operate items around the room naturally, improved render speeds, and new visual effects to make the spaces portrayed in the system more beautiful and realistic than ever before.

4D Theatre ditches the controller and allows customers to walk around the space freely via a specially-designed headset. The system tracks their body and hand movements and relays them onto the screen, making customers feel like they have jumped into a room that has been specially created for them.

Consumers can freely move around the room in the headset, giving retailers a platform to showcase the full potential of the space – while giving designers the opportunity to experiment with a range of configurations quickly and easily.

The high cost of kitchens and bathrooms, and therefore the inherent risk of buyers’ remorse that comes from a purchase that does not meet up to expectations, means that many customers now want to ensure they have a complete picture of what their bathroom will look like, before committing to a purchase. Immersive tools such as 4D Theatre help retailers to convert sales by alleviating that sense of risk, while allowing them to deal with other problems such as a lack of showroom space to display stock.

With two stands at the event, Virtual Worlds will feature live and interactive demo sessions and training for this 4D software, which is the first of its kind in creation, offering a genuine and sophisticated level of 4D VR which supports KBB businesses in achieving their goals.

Nathan Maclean, managing director at Virtual Worlds, said: “We’re incredibly excited to have such a big presence at the show with two stands where we will be showcasing our 4D Theatre technology and offering. This really is our most exciting and immersive product to date and as a result will undoubtedly help to deliver a new and futuristic retail experience for bricks and mortar KBB retailers.

“Shows such as this provide us with an invaluable opportunity to stage our cutting-edge technology, as well as demonstrating our strength in innovation and the high quality of our products. 4D Theatre is fast becoming a highly sought-after solution to protect the consumer against buyer remorse and is changing the face of KBB retail forever – we look forward to sharing this with visitors to the show.”

Visitors to the show can find Virtual Worlds at stand F124 and stand G100, which are on the edge of hall 19 and 20 respectively.

Virtual Worlds 4D Reaches Big ’50’ Milestone

It has certainly been a successful first-half of the year for innovation led CAD company, Virtual Worlds – which now has over 50 KBB retailers signed up to its ground breaking 4D technology.

Launched in October 2015 on a pre-order basis, Virtual Worlds 4D delivers a high quality, virtual reality and an interactive buying experience via a futuristic headset. In a complete industry-first, users are able to experience a realistic 4D simulation of physically being in their dream kitchen or bathroom design via an avatar; allowing them to get a feel for the space, how the design works, and even try out functions such as opening drawers.

The 4D feature comes as part of Virtual Worlds’ comprehensive ONE package which includes an innovative range of design and selling tools designed to enhance the buying experience and, in turn, improve sales conversion rates for the retailer.

Nathan Maclean, managing director at Virtual Worlds comments: “As a complete industry first for the UK market, we knew that pre-order take up would be strong, however to already have over 50 retailers on board is incredible.

4D Software, Virtual Worlds,
Virtual Worlds 4D technology reduces consumer fear associated with large purchases.

“The reality is that a new kitchen or bathroom is a huge investment for the average consumer, so it’s important that they get it right. With this in mind, our 4D offer takes CAD technology to a whole new level by allowing them to not only see how their design will look but get a feel of how it will work through the motion of actually being in the room. In this way, it effectively alleviates the fear factor associated to buying these big ticket items.”

He adds: “The feedback from retailers who have already implemented the technology has been fantastic and we look forward to more retailers adding 4D to their showrooms this year.”

Virtual Worlds Leads CAD Development at KBB 2016

The hive of activity on stand G100 was unmissable at this year’s KBB Birmingham, as retailers, designers and suppliers were able to experience the latest technology developed by Logicom – Virtual Worlds.

The Virtual Worlds team put on an impressive show with classroom style training and presentations running alongside one-on-one demonstrations. Their iconic yellow chairs and 4D headsets transported a mass of visitors into the virtual world of bathrooms and kitchens, where they themselves became avatars within the designed space.

Nathan Maclean- Managing Director comments, “KBB 2016 has been a major success for Virtual Worlds. Our increased investment in the industry has secured record breaking orders from suppliers and retailers, who were clearly impressed with the advancements made”.

Virtual Worlds ONE is their all-inclusive subscription service that provides a unified future ready solution for designing, pricing and presenting room designs.

As an extension to Virtual Worlds 4D, ‘Room in Box’ sees end consumers take Virtual Worlds Room in a Boxtheir new kitchen or bathroom home at time of purchase, in what is a retailer branded Google cardboard 4D viewer. With the 4D design posted to their smart phone, which is then placed inside the viewer, the end consumer will wow their friends at home as they step inside their new Virtual World.

Not just the best 3D Design Software around…

…and granted, that’s pretty well up there for being more than enough accolade for anyone; but here at Virtual Worlds we have many strings to our bow!

Now, we all love a trade exhibition but stand competition can be pretty tough – so you have to make sure you capture the crowd as they pass by and make your product look the very best it can be. There’s no getting away from it, we live in a time where we all like things ‘instant’ and to truly engage with your audience, your stand must be compelling and attractive to draw in passers by and hopefully, maximise those selling opportunities!

What better way to do that, than with video! People usually like to watch something on a screen, in preference to reading a leaflet or booklet and will respond with much greater force.

Video marketing is becoming increasingly effective as a marketing medium, both online and in an environment like exhibitions. It’s quick and effective and encourages people to engage with your brand by saving them time… and it just so happens, back here at Virtual Worlds HQ, we can help you do just that!

Not only do we produce the ultimate 3D design software for the kbb industry and interior designers, but we have a great Video & Audio Production team who can create and produce a vast range of broadcast quality projects.

With fully equipped in-house facilities, including a video edit suite, HD video camera equipment, ISDN link and a professional sound recording studio! We offer a very cost effective solution to our clients, by having everything under one roof – not only do our audio and video departments work closely, but they also work together with our other creatives; so we can seamlessly integrate sound, video, 3D graphics and animations with your projects.

New version of Virtual Worlds released!

Virtual Worlds Transforms CAD with New Rapid Rendering

The latest generation of Virtual Worlds Professional (5.9) has been launched (January 2015); it delivers higher quality photo-realistic renders, 25% faster than ever before. The significant advances have been introduced to save designers and retailers time and further improve customers’ quote to order conversions.

A new facility using ‘layers’ has also been introduced to the latest Virtual Worlds, which impacts the 2D and 3D plan formats.  When presenting options to a client, designers can now rapidly flick between alternative 3D layouts, highlighting style, colour and budget options. At 2D level, specific dimensions can now be isolated, which will help reduce installation errors.

Nathan MacLean, Acting Managing Director at Logicom explains the driving force behind the latest generation of Virtual Worlds Professional: “As a former KBB designer and a CAD user myself, I understand the importance of meeting mainstream expectations and delivering exciting new and optional functionality for advanced users, all at ever-increasing speeds. Our development team works closely with CAD users and we are already looking ahead to later in the year when we anticipate launching an impressive real-time lighting option, for added impact at presentation stage”.

The new Virtual Worlds Professional is available free of charge to current users, along with the latest new product catalogues from leading bathroom, kitchen and bedroom manufacturers.  Virtual Worlds supports its CAD software with a comprehensive training programme and a manned, technical hotline for answering any individual queries.

Logicom does BBC Children in Need

On Monday 17th November we went from your every day office workers to becoming our very own heroes to raise money for the great charity, BBC Children in Need. We were supported in our efforts by the wonderful Admiral Costumes in Newton Longville who provided many fancy dress costumes to ensure we all looked the part.

Logicom to the rescue!

Not only did we transform into heroes but we also hosted a hero themed bake off competition! Lots of scrummy cakes were baked and consumed leaving us all dreading the scales but definitely worth it as we raised £100.90 by eating cake alone! Not bad for a day’s work.

To encourage donations from customers, we offered one lucky donator the chance to win a year’s rental of a Virtual Worlds licence as part of a prize draw for all those donating through our Just Giving webpage. We’d like to say a huge thank you to all who donated and special congratulations to our prize draw winner, Plumbrite in Suffolk.

We had great fun organising this event and appreciate all of the support we’ve received, it’s been a great success and so far we’ve raised a total of £431.90!

If you’ve not already made a donation, don’t panic! Our Just Giving page; www.justgiving.com/Logicom is still open so please dig deep and let’s help the Children in Need.
