Virtual Worlds supporting the Industry

Members of the Virtual Worlds team were thrilled recently to attend the kbbreview Retail & Design Awards which were held on 4th April in Manchester.

The event was a slightly different format to previous years, with a steampunk theme, and was held in the stunning surroundings of the Victoria Warehouse.

Once again, we were the social media partner for the awards and were live tweeting throughout the event to keep everybody updated. Being involved with the awards is a fantastic way for us to demonstrate our support for the KBB industry and we were delighted to be involved.

The evening began with a drinks reception on the mezzanine level overlooking the main dining area, then it was on to dinner. The table settings included Virtual Worlds branded props which were enjoyed by many of the guests.

Our host for the evening was the wonderful Steph McGovern who entertained us with stories and anecdotes from her journalistic career.

Then it was on to the awards presentation itself. We would like to extend our congratulations to all of the winners and shortlisted companies from the evening.

The night ended with the afterparty which had a fairground theme. We produced a VR game especially for the event which involved to players competing against each other to hook as many ducks as they could, with a drink token up for grabs for each winner.

The game proved very popular with a queue of people forming very quickly (although we’re not sure if that was people wanting to try the game, or the chance of a free drink!)

All in all, it was a great event and we’re already looking forward to next year!

Not just a game
